Next video, same day, but this time chasing a porsche :-D
Yeap, chasing a porsche, eventually overtaking it. The main gain against the Cayman (not a 911) was under braking after the straight, and through the chicane.

It was frustrating at times...
But here is the video from Friday!
Hopefully more to come this week :-D.

Video from friday is...
Uploading! At last! After two days of playing around with video files, formats, and eventually editing, the video is on it's way to online. I upgraded to Final Cut Express, and there was a steeper learning curve than expected... However, with some help from my brother, and some patience and time online, I have it sussed, and more (better) videos will be forthcoming.
488 minutes until it's done uploading apparently... o_O

That was the best day I've had since I picked up the car!
Fantastic day at the track today! Spent the day learning the car, and competing with 2 fellow Academites who were there. Fantastic... Video will be up as soon as I get through it all... wont be long, tonight for sure.
There were some photographers there, so I got a usb filled with some of my car, some keepers some meh ones, here are the best two!
2nd corner, full blown 50-60mph left hander.
Same corner, same moment.
Videos to come! Stay tuned for some caterham competition, and some friendly fun with lotus' and other such vehicles :-D.

ARDS test done!
The whole of group one has passed the ARDS test, and we're all certified racing drivers!
I think that's the most fun I've had during a test ever. There was a super greasy skid pad, which honestly was the most fun anyone could ever have in a 4 door e36 316i... 360s are fantastic :-D.
The track driving section was also brilliant, being the first track time I've had in a couple years, it took some getting use to again.
Soon I should be heading to Demon Tweaks to get my racing gear, and hopefully by the end of February I'll be doing my first track day in the Caterham! :-D

Brake light shorting solved.
Before going out to get a few extra fuses to replace the ones that blew, and to have spares, I took a quick look at the brake light switch again. Low and behold, it's as easy as turning a spanner 1/4 of a turn to rotate the switch out of harms way. Done and dusted, new fuses in, all lights working as they should. Now I hope that's the last issue I have before race season, but I know it isn't :-D.
How it was before, you can see how play in the clutch mount (standard, can't get rid of that) allows the two to touch, shorting out the switch and blowing the fuse.
How it is now, no chance of anything shorting on it, all is well, and no electrical tape!

SNOW!
The Caterham in the snow! So awesome, I just love snow (if you couldn't tell already...). I didn't take it out on the roads, with all the salt and grit out there it didn't seem worth the hassle!
I also went for a walk and took some scenic oxfordshire in the snow pictures, which will come about when I've edited them.

Mmmm snow
There's now almost 3 inches of snow on the ground :-D, I'll be waking up early tomorrow to take advantage of it! Picture time.
SNOW!
I love snow! Snow is pretty much the most awesome thing that comes from the sky, and finally this stupidly cold weather has paid off, and it's snowing!
Fuse failure found
Turns out the cotter pin that holds the clutch pedal to the clutch Master Cylinder shaft is in just the right place to occasionally short the brake light switch... Fixed with a little electrical tape, just need to get a few replacement fuses and it's good to go again. I'm glad I found the source, had it continued, that would have been a very very annoying black flag to receive in a race! I will see if I can master a non-electrical tape way to fix the issue.
Brake light fuse
I've been looking for the source of the brake light fuse blowing, maybe it's the cold, but I can't seem to find the issue. Must have to go deeper... look a little closer.
